Located within the Cheshire Green Belt in Alderley Edge, this project involved the design and planning approval for two new family homes—one a replacement dwelling and the other an infill property on a long-held family site.

Northern Architects developed a sensitive, contextually rooted scheme that balances modern design with traditional materiality. Both homes feature contemporary forms expressed in Cheshire red brick, timber cladding, and white render to harmonise with the local vernacular.

Internally, each property offers expansive open-plan kitchen and living spaces with views over the countryside, three double bedrooms, and a master suite. The site’s established landscaping—created by the client, a landscape architect—was carefully preserved, with the new homes sited to minimise disruption. The project has secured planning and is progressing through technical design.
